Arzu Newsletter - Issue 4 - June 2009
Hello and welcome to Arzu’s June 2009 edition of “Desired Beauty”. How quickly time passes! In this issue we give you a product update, we talk about minerals in general and we let you know where you can find us next. We also introduce our latest consultants and inform you of the specials available at our June and July 2009 parties.
What is new with ARZU?
Product Update
- Eye shadows, concealers and brow dusts are now only available in 1gm containers. Body shimmers and blushes in 3gm containers and setting powders in 5gm containers.
- Foundations are still available as 8gm containers and 8gm refills. As the majority of our customers prefer the powder foundation we have decided to discontinue the liquid and crème foundations.
- We have made the sunscreen more family friendly by packaging it in a 130ml pump pack.
- We have a new beige blush called 'Maidens Blush' that is suited to people who like bronzers as a blush.
- There are three fabulous new lipsticks Orchid, Mulla and Erica. They range from a mid pink to darker pink / grape shade.

Mineral Containers
During the year you will see our new make-up powder containers filter through. It is much easier to see how much product you have through the clear lid and therefore you are less likely to have spillages. Remember when you purchase a new product only take half of the sticky label off the sifter as this will give you even better control over the amount of powder in the sifter.
Minerals Verses Minerals
With so much hype in the media about minerals and the larger companies jumping on the bandwagon how do you know what is in a mineral product, what is good about a product and how do you know what to look out for?
Basically it all comes down to the ingredients. Most importantly look out for chemical additives to the mineral ingredients as this may cause skin irritation and clogged pores. Talc and bismuth or bismuth oxichloride as we more commonly know it, are classed as natural products but they can be drying and an irritant to the skin.
Talc may turn white in the creases of your skin as the day goes on. In general, if there is an ingredient that is unpronounceable it is usually a chemical based ingredient. Remember what is first on the label is the largest ingredient of a product and the last is the smallest ingredient of a product.
What I can tell you is Arzu takes care to use all natural and where possible organic products. Under the guidance of a qualified chemist Arzu adheres to the guidelines of each ingredient so that we can do our best not to create a reaction to your skin. As we are a new business it takes a little time to get things perfect. All skin reacts differently so improvements can only be made when customers let us know about concerns that they have with our products.
Over summer we changed our base ingredients of the powder foundation to combat the tingling sensation some customers were experiencing, particularly on warm summer days. We received a great response to the trials we conducted and we are positive that Arzu has improved its products texture, coverage and contribution to better tissue health.
Mineral powders are inorganic and what this means to you is that they are incapable of producing bacteria therefore they will not perish. A moist or wet ingredient has more potential to harvest bacteria so do keep in mind products such as mascaras, lipgloss, lipsticks and skin care products have a two year best before date.
Arzu only makes up small quantities of products at a time so that you can obtain the best out of all your products. We are in the process of adding the best before date to all our products.
